Members - List of Members - Sandra Davis Ewens

Born in Toronto, Sandra has lived in Montreal Quebec, the West Indies, Kingston Ontario and currently resides in Oro Medonte.

She seriously began her art career in the 80's in Quebec while working with many accomplished international artists in workshops at Arts Tremblant, organized by her artist friend and mentor Lou Charton and with classes at St. Lawrence College in Brockville.

A workshop in Florida with Virginia Cobb subsequently, encouraged her use of mixed media and determined her interpretive style.

Sandra feels her creative urges to paint are inspired spontaneously by people and events which affect her emotions deeply thereby generating the images and shapes
she produces.

She received The Award of Excellence from a juried members show at the Daytona Beach Art Gallery in Florida. For several years she served on the executive and as president of The Thousand Islands Fine Art Association. Her paintings have been exhibited in shows in Kingston, Brockville, Gananoque and Orillia Ontario, and has a work included in the permanent collection of Parks Canada.

Her paintings have been purchased for private collections internationally, in Canada,
United States, the United Kingdom, Germany and the Orient. While living in Kingston, Sandra was one of the core artists at the Studio 22 gallery. She has produced several solo exhibitions, the most noted, an exhibition titled 'Music in the Air' showcasing
twenty themed paintings for a fundraising program for the Kingston Symphony.

In the Oro Medonte and Orillia region she has shown her work at the White House Christmas Art and Craft Show, Woodside Pottery Gallery at Craighurst, Orillia Blues
and Jazz Festival, at the former 16 Front St. restaurant and in Barrie at the
" Waterworks" show in the City Hall rotunda and at the Lake Rosseau gallery 'Up the
Garden Path'.

For several years she has exhibited in the International Women's Day Art Show at
The Orillia Museum of Art and History. In 2019 Sandra was honoured to have her painting 'Tapestries For Change' which responded to their theme "Connections", selected for the show announcement.
In November 2019 Sandra in conjunction with photographer artist Carol Deimling, including guest artists, held an exhibition at Rugby Hall in Oro Medonte. In June 2022, Sandra exhibited with two other artists at the Double Door Gallery in Anten Mills, On.
