MJ POLLAK began post-secondary studies at Ontario College of Art (Now OCADU). While doing General Studies in fine art there, an interest developed in theatrical design leading to enrolling in Theatre Crafts and Design program at the Banff School of Fine Arts. This led to an internship in the Design Department at the Juilliard School in New York, after which MJ returned to Banff as Faculty in the Theatre Department.

Following that, MJ was resident Costume Designer at Le Cercle Moliere theatre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Four years later MJ decided to return to Ontario working as a free-lance set and costume designer including a year as a design assistant at Shaw Festival. Looking for a more stable career, MJ studied interior design at the International Academy of Marketing and Design.

After that MJ specialized in office management for design companies.
Moving to Orillia has enabled MJ to get back to pursuing visual arts, currently focusing on refining skills in acrylic and watercolour painting, sketching as a member of Urban Sketchers Orillia, and photography.

MJ published a novel, Summer Burns, with Insomniac Press, and has had several short stories and small pieces featured in other publications.
