Meet Kate: A versatile, general artist, who holds an Honours Bachelor of Social Work degree. Kate is also the Director of a regional distress line in Simcoe County and is passionate about community mental health and well-being.
While largely self-taught, Kate was first introduced to acrylics and watercolour by their grandmother Elizabeth, a first-generation Canadian and refugee. Although she was a gifted oil painter, textile and ceramic artist, Elizabeth's contributions to the art community went largely unrecognized.
As a person with a disability/chronic illness, Kate embraces artistic expression to support mental, spiritual, and physical wellbeing. Kate's specialties include watercolour and ink illustration, pointillism, and has experience with oil, acrylic, chalk work, textiles, and tattooing.
