Events - New Beginnings

Selina Eisenberg, a warm and welcoming teller from Montreal, will be our featured guest. Selina’s ability to fascinate and enthrall her audience is demonstrated by repeat invitations to tell at schools, story slams, and storytelling festivals in Ottawa, Edmonton, Quebec and Israel.

She is a vital member of Storytellers of Canada, has served as its president, and has ties to the National Storytelling Network in the U.S. and the Federation of European Storytelling. Adapting to our new, online world, she has helped grow the Montreal Storytellers Guild into a bi-weekly event that gathers together tellers and listeners from around the world.

Because the theme for World Storytelling Day this year is New Beginnings, Selina is bringing stories of growth and fresh starts – and of baking bread!

Sharon Langfield and Peter Cox will bring music. You can’t have a good kitchen party without it! MC Jan McFarland will lead us through the afternoon, weaving together the music and stories from Storytelling Orillia tellers and guests.

Every storytelling event is a new event. Every story told is a new story, particular to that time and place. We invite you to be part of this New Beginning!

The concert will be held via Zoom, and will open at 1:30. Stories will begin at 2:00. All ages are welcome.
