On Monday, December 7, Simcoe County Arts & Crafts Association invites you to join them to make a unique Christmas card featuring an ornament using the 'iris folding' technique, instructed by multi-talented Gladys Fieldhouse. Iris folding is a fun and easy paper folding technique that can be used to make greeting cards or scrapbook pages.
The meeting is held at the Simcoe County Museum on Hwy 26 in Midhurst at 1pm sharp until 3pm. Everyone is invited to attend. The fee of $10 covers instruction, materials and refreshments. Check the website closer to the date to find out what tools you should bring with you -- www.simcoecrafts.ca.

This is exactly what Couchiching Jubilee House has been doing for the last 8 years with great success. Couchiching Jubilee House is a program of support that includes transitional housing. Founded in Jubilee Year 2001, the house opened to offer four furnished apartments to vulnerable women and their dependent children, offering a safe, supportive and affordable environment for up to one year. Our program has become well known, respected and supported within its community.
Couchiching Jubilee House is facing a crisis
Our landlord notified us in May 2009 that our lease will not be renewed .We must find a new home. The Board has decided to purchase a building to ensure that the continuation of the CJH program will not be jeopardized again.
Couchiching Jubilee House is a success story. We need a new home. Support from Aviva will make it possible for our success story to continue.
