World Storytelling Day

Please note that March 20 is World Storytelling Day. To recognize this occasion the Mariposa Folk Foundation, Stephen Leacock National Historic Site and Orillia & District Arts Council are joining together to present an evening of Storytelling.

While popularly considered a past time to entertain children the oral tradition of storytelling transcends age and culture, providing insite into our histories and our deepest social and cultural beliefs.

Note the Workshop that begins at 6pm

6:00 pm    Once Upon A Workshop: Learn the Ancient and Relevant Art of Storytelling
Hosted by Brad Woods of the Great Wooden Trio. Brad has travelled across Canada and Internationally as a storyteller, musician and recording artist. This is a great opportunity to experience the craft up close and personal

ODAC is pleased to pass on to its members Scott Talk; for Theatre and Performance Arts Lovers

The editor of this e-newsletter, John Bleasby, has once again done a remarkable job of bringing all the information that people have sent his way into an attractive and coherent format.

The newsletter and it's list of readers continues to grow and I hope that the information which is offered is of use to ODAC members. It is the hope of the authors that in some small way it's bringing many of the elements of our Arts Community a little closer together each month.
